Product Warranty

All of our products come with a standard 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing and material defects under normal use. Products registered through our app or our website may be eligible for an extended 3-year warranty in addition to the standard warranty. This additional warranty applies only to products with a registered serial number and covers the same aspects as the standard warranty.

Product-specific warranty terms:

• Avalanche Transceivers (Beacons): The warranty covers premature wear of materials, malfunctions, and any deterioration in performance.
• Airbag Packs: Our warranty includes material failure not related to normal use, abnormal malfunctions of the triggering mechanism or inflation system, as well as issues related to the gas cartridge.
• Other Equipment (Shovels, Probes, etc.): Manufacturing defects are covered by our warranty.
• Warranty Exclusions: Our warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, negligence, or use that does not comply with the instructions provided with the product.

SERVICES: Terms of Use

All services offered by Arva (inspection, refill, repair, etc.) include a prepaid return label, allowing the customer to easily ship their product to us.

Packaging and Protection of Returned Products

The customer must ship their product in closed, sturdy, opaque, and suitable packaging that protects it during transit and does not reveal its nature or value.

Arva cannot be held liable for the consequences resulting from packaging prepared by the customer that is clearly insufficient or unsuitable, subject to applicable legal provisions.

Shipping Addresses

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the accuracy of the information entered when creating the return label.
In the event of an address error resulting in non-delivery, return, or loss of the package, the logistics costs incurred may be re-billed to the customer.

Product Compatibility

The services offered by Arva are strictly reserved for Arva-brand products.

Any product sent in that is not eligible for the relevant service — including, but not limited to:

products from other brands,
obsolete or non-functional products,
products that cannot be repaired or serviced —
cannot be accepted for service.

In this case, Arva reserves the right to:

decline to perform the service,
withhold a flat round-trip shipping fee of €10 (tax included) from any refund due to the customer.

Transparency and Processing

If there is any doubt as to a product's eligibility, we recommend that customers contact our customer service team before sending any item.

SEASONAL RENTAL: General Rental Terms

These general rental terms supplement the Terms of Sale of the Arva-Equipment.com website and apply to any rental of avalanche and mountain safety products (avalanche transceivers, transceiver packs, airbag packs, carbon and steel gas cartridges, etc.).

Order and Bank Account Details (IBAN)

To rent a product, the customer selects the "Rental" option, confirms their cart, and accepts these terms. Valid bank account details (IBAN) must be provided as security for late fees and any abnormal damage. Banking information is managed by our payment processor and retained for the duration of the rental, extended by 20 days to process the return. No amount is charged without legitimate cause, and we always favor an amicable resolution before any charge is made. If the order is canceled before shipment, the bank account details are automatically deactivated.

Delivery Territory

Rentals can only be delivered to countries listed as eligible on the site (primarily certain countries within the eurozone and/or the Schengen area, excluding countries subject to customs formalities). Technically, an order may be placed from any country, but if the delivery address is not located in an eligible zone, Arva reserves the right to cancel the order, decline to ship the rental, and refund any amounts paid.

Rental Period and Return

Unless otherwise stated, rentals are seasonal: equipment must be returned no later than May 15 of the current season. At the end of the rental period, the customer has two business days to drop off the return package, with the postmark date or drop-off date at a pickup point serving as proof. The product must be properly packaged and protected.

Late Fees and Abnormal Wear

In the event of a late return, a penalty of €10 (tax included) per day and per product is applied, not to exceed the product's full retail price (tax included). Beyond 15 days of delay, or once this cap is reached, the product is deemed not returned and the full retail price (tax included) becomes due.

If the product shows abnormal wear or damage, a contribution toward repair costs of up to €20 (tax included) per repair may be charged. If the product can no longer be rented out and the cost of repair exceeds 50% of its full retail price (tax included), an additional penalty equal to 50% of that price may be charged. Amounts owed for late returns and/or damage may be charged to the account linked to the bank details provided, and will never exceed the product's full retail price (tax included).

Customer Obligations

The customer agrees to use the product in accordance with its intended purpose, the accompanying instructions, and applicable safety rules; not to sublet it; not to transfer it to a third party; not to attempt to modify or repair it without prior authorization; and to keep it in good condition. The customer has physical custody of the product from the time of delivery until Arva receives the returned item.

Liability

Arva cannot be held liable for improper or unsafe use of the products, or for any unsuitability for particular needs that were not communicated to us. Arva's liability cannot be invoked in the event of force majeure or circumstances beyond its control (natural disasters, strikes, network outages, new legal obligations, etc.). In all cases, Arva's liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damages and may not exceed the total amount paid for the rental in question.

We reserve the right to make changes to our site, our policies, and these terms of use at any time. We may update this agreement from time to time, and any relevant changes will be posted here.

Consumer Dispute Resolution and Disputes

NIC-IMPEX SAS is a company organized under French law. These Terms of Sale are governed by French law.

In accordance with the provisions of the French Consumer Code relating to the amicable settlement of disputes, the consumer may, after first submitting a written complaint to Arva-Equipment.com's customer service, make free use of the consumer mediation service to which NIC-IMPEX SAS belongs for this site: CM2C (Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice), 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France, +33 1.89.47.00.14. Instructions for filing a claim are available on the mediator's website: www.cm2c.net.

The consumer may refer the matter to the mediator only after demonstrating a prior attempt to resolve the dispute directly with NIC-IMPEX SAS, in accordance with Articles L.612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code.

If mediation is unsuccessful, or if the consumer does not wish to pursue it, the consumer remains free to bring the matter before the competent court under ordinary law.
