If you visit or shop at Arva-Equipment.com, you accept these terms and conditions and represent that you are at least 18 years old or of minimum legal age. Please read them carefully. Risk of Loss

All items purchased from Arva-Equipment.com are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.

However, Arva-Equipment.com does not warrant that product descriptions or other content on this site are accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. If a product offered by Arva-Equipment.com itself is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition.

Product Warranty

All our products come with a standard 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing and material defects under normal use. Products registered on our app or on our website may benefit from an extended 3-year warranty in addition to the standard warranty. This extended warranty only applies to products with a registered serial number and covers the same aspects as the standard warranty.

Specific warranty for certain products:

DVA (avalanche transceivers): The warranty covers early wear of materials, malfunctions, and any degradation of performance.
Airbag packs: The warranty covers material breakage not related to normal use, abnormal malfunctions of the activation mechanism or inflation system, and issues related to the gas cartridge.
Other equipment (shovels, probes, etc.): Manufacturing defects are covered by our warranty.
Exclusions: The warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, negligence, or non-compliance with the instructions provided with the product.

SERVICES: Terms and Conditions of Use

All services offered by Arva (maintenance, refill, repair, etc.) include the provision of a prepaid return label allowing the customer to easily send us their product.

Shipping addresses

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the accuracy of the information entered when creating the return label.
In the event of an incorrect address leading to non-delivery, return, or loss of the parcel, the logistics costs incurred may be charged back to the customer.

Product compatibility

The services offered by Arva are strictly limited to products from the Arva brand.

Any product sent but not eligible for the requested service — including but not limited to:

products from other brands,
obsolete or out-of-service products,
products that cannot be repaired or serviced —
cannot be processed.

In such cases, Arva reserves the right to:

refuse the service,
withhold return shipping costs of a flat amount of €10 incl. VAT from any applicable refund.

Transparency and handling

If there is any doubt about a product’s eligibility, we recommend contacting our customer service before shipping.

SEASONAL RENTAL: Terms and Conditions

These rental terms supplement the General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) of Arva-Equipment.com and apply to all seasonal rentals of avalanche safety and mountain equipment (avalanche transceivers, DVA packs, airbag packs, gas cartridges in carbon and steel, etc.).

Order and IBAN

To rent a product, the customer selects the “Rent” option, validates the cart, and accepts these conditions. A valid IBAN must be provided: it is used as a guarantee for late-return penalties and for any abnormal wear or damage. Banking data is managed by our payment service provider and kept for the duration of the rental plus 20 days to process the return. No amount is charged without a legitimate reason, and we always seek an amicable solution before any debit. If the order is cancelled before shipment, the IBAN is automatically deactivated.

Delivery territory

Rental products can only be delivered to countries indicated as eligible on the site (mainly certain Eurozone and/or Schengen countries, excluding countries subject to customs formalities). Technically, an order can be placed from any country, but if the delivery address is not located in an eligible area, Arva reserves the right to cancel the order, not ship the rental, and refund all amounts paid.

Rental period and return

Unless otherwise stated, rentals are seasonal: the equipment must be returned no later than May 15 of the current season. At the end of the rental period, the customer has two business days to drop off the return parcel, with the postmark or drop-off date at the pickup point serving as proof. The product must be properly packed and protected.

Late return and abnormal wear

In case of late return, a penalty of €10 incl. VAT per day and per product applies, up to a maximum of the product’s full new retail price (incl. VAT). Beyond 15 days of delay or once this cap is reached, the product is deemed not returned and the full new retail price becomes due.

If the product shows abnormal wear or damage, a contribution to repair costs of up to €20 incl. VAT per operation may be charged. If the product can no longer be rented and the repair cost exceeds 50% of its full new retail price (incl. VAT), an additional penalty equal to 50% of that price may be debited. Amounts due for late returns and/or damage may be debited from the account linked to the IBAN provided, but never exceeding the product’s full new retail price (incl. VAT).

Customer obligations

The customer agrees to use the product in accordance with its intended purpose, the user manuals, and safety rules, not to sublet or transfer it to a third party, not to modify or repair it without prior approval, and to keep it in good condition. The customer has physical custody of the product from delivery until the return is received by Arva.

Liability

Arva cannot be held liable for improper or hazardous use of the products, nor for any mismatch with needs that were not clearly communicated. In the event of force majeure or circumstances beyond its control (natural disasters, strikes, network outages, new legal obligations, etc.), its liability cannot be engaged. In all cases, Arva’s liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damages and cannot exceed the total amount paid for the rental concerned.

We reserve the right to make changes to our site, policies, and these conditions of use at any time. We may update this agreement from time to time and will post any relevant changes here.
